“Discovering the services our area Literacy Councils provide has been extremely rewarding for our family. Although our youngest child is bright and loves to learn and we have found an excellent school for her in Cashiers, she struggled with math and responds best to small group or one on one instruction. Upon a call to the Cashiers Literacy Council, we expected to be referred elsewhere for help but we were armed with the knowledge that their staff included gifted volunteers, many of whom are former teachers. We hoped at least one volunteer would be willing to tutor math and were thrilled to be contacted by Mrs. Nancy West. Able and willing to meet with our daughter each week, Nancy has generously given her time and talents to help our daughter progress and supplement what she has learned at school to build the foundation in math she so desperately needed.” — Gretchen Chidsey

Our son participated in the Dolly Parton Imagination Library program. He looked forward to going to the Post Office each month himself to pick up his book. Trenton really enjoyed all of the books.
